Final Cut Pro X 06/28/2011

The new Final Cut Pro looks amazing. The new, updated color theme looks great. I love the sort of, three dimensional feel you get with clips, and titles in your timeline.  The new layout also looks amazing. It looks like they've removed all the floating panels, and made it all one, big window. Which I tend to like. Don't get me wrong, floating palettes have there place, say Photoshop for instance, but its nice for video editing to have it all in one window. Because I tend to close the palette, and say "I won't need this." and 10 minutes later, I'll franticly be looking everywhere for it. So that looks like a nice improvement. The new event library also looks to be a huge improvement. I love the idea of being able to categorize different shots by whose in it, camera movement, and by the type of shot. (I.E. John Doe, tracking, or close-up.) Take a look at these two pics.

As the title would imply, this is going to be some test shots using the OWLE Bubo, and the iPhone 4. I've had this thing for about 3 months now, and I have to say, I am very pleased. It no doubt lives up to its reputation, and is everything I was expecting, and more. The following stills, were all shot on the iPhone 4. They where only edited with the free PS Express app, and TiltShiftGen, also a free app. This is not a review, but solely a demonstration of how well the OWLE performs.

Ok… I have not used Windows 7, so this is not a review or anything like that. It's just me stating why I think Windows 7 (market wise) is doing so well.

I think that Windows Vista users are so mad at Vista that they will do anything to get away from it! Even if that means buying 7 without any knowledge on how to use it! Although they say that 7 is easer to get used to than Vista, but still. Then there are some people that are actually happy with Vista! (I don't personally know anyone but I'm sure there out there!) What about all the people that use Vista only because its installed on their computer and they don't know how to install something else?

I just want to point out before I begin, that I am not biased in ANY WAY!
(facts not based on any research.)

Ok, the main thing the MacBook has going for it is that it looks really cool! The nonslip bottom (much like the earlier iBook Indigo) is rather cool, and the multi touch glass trackpad is really nice to use. Its new "streamline" look and feel is pretty sweet, and the unibody design is very nice to look at!

1. When filling out your driver's license application you give your IP address.

2. You no longer ask prospective dates what their sign is, instead your line is "Hi, what's your URL?"

3. Instead of calling you to dinner, your spouse sends email.

4. You're amazed to find out spam is a food.

5. You "ping" people to see if they're awake, "finger" them to find out how they are, and "AYT" them to make sure they're listening to you.

Jolicloud Review 10/19/2009

This is my first review, and blog post, so comment if you liked it! (or not :)

First Impressions:

Installing was very quick and painless… If you are going to be installing Jolicloud soon, if you have a choice, I suggest creating a Joliclould USB key. (Instructions found HERE.)

Using Jolicloud was a blast. Very simple, very quick to boot, (probably the fastest OS that I'VE seen) Installing apps was like installing an app on the iPhone, or iPod touch. But faster! Simple one click download, very quick, practically no downtime.
